Season 11 of the Charles
Chocolates Dancin’ Dynamites Competition is up and revving, following the
high-energy launch at Limelight in Half Way Tree; and of auditions which kicked
into high gear on Saturday January 11 in May Pen, Clarendon.
The
launch revved up to a smashing start with the St. Judes Marching Band drumming
up beats and incorporating dance into a thrilling show for the audience. To top
that, there were high-energy dance routines, and a high performance from the
effervescent Charles Chocolates Brand Ambassadors, Voicemail who delivered some of their biggest hits, with dance choreography by Supreme
Blazers. Bugle,
Nesbeth, and gospel singer Jai Kingston also delivered well, getting the
audience in a frenzy.
The auditions will set the
pace for another exciting year, running through the month of January across the
island. Expectations are high, as the 10th season saw record
viewership and votes, but if the launch is anything to go by, there will be
nothing but high-energy sets, innovative dance moves, and delicious Charles
Chocolates and Devon Biscuits along the way.
The Charles Chocolates Dancin’ Dynamites Competition started in 2006, and
spans a period of three and a half months. Twelve dance groups are selected
from an island-wide search and weekly dancers present their 2 minute routine on
television.
