The Best Dressed Chicken Set to Excite With First-Class Culinary Destination’ At Jamaica Observer Food Awards
The Best Dressed
Chicken has recruited four of Jamaica’s leading chefs to serve up delicious
gourmet selections this evening at the Jamaica Observer Food Awards.
The quartet of
accomplished chefs Ravi Anne, Group Executive Chef, Jewels Resorts; Michael
Dannecker, Executive Chef, Hilton Rose Hall and Spa; Stephen Sowa, Executive
Chef, Half Moon; and Daniel Schweizer, Executive Chef, Goddard Catering Group,
may compete on the occasional basis, but this time around they have joined
forces to craft a one-of-a-kind Culinary Destination for patrons at the highly
anticipated Food Awards.
Joining them
will be Artemio Lopez, Chef de Cuisine from Cayman’s award-winning The
Brasserie which won Best Restaurant, Best Farm to Table and Best Place for
Lunch at last year’s Table Talk Food Awards – Cayman Edition. Chef Lopez’s
passion is the farm-to-table concept and cooking with local produce and meat,
one which he plans to utilize on his sojourn in Jamaica, at the Food Awards.
The Chefs promise
to deliver an exciting array of dishes. High on the impressive menu lineup is
Jamaica’s most-loved protein - chicken, prepared with authentic local spices in
exciting new ways that are sure to please.
Joan Forrest
Henry, Divisional Sales and Marketing Manager, The Best Dressed Chicken said
the chefs were selected for their diversity and she is anticipating a
distinctive exhibition at the celebrated event. “We are honoured to host Cayman’s
distinguished Chef Lopez, who will be sharing his exceptional gourmet
selections with us,” said Forrest Henry. “We will be presenting an exclusive experience to our food lovers and those who are
yet to explore their taste palates. Innovation is a primary pillar of the
industry and our chefs will showcase their expertise through a range of menus
that reflect Jamaica’s culinary variety and flavour profiles.”
The Best Dressed
Chicken has been a major sponsor of the Jamaica Observer Food Awards for over a
decade, and the four chefs will highlight the evolution of the brand since its
initial partnership agreement. Ravi Anne commented, “We are friends and
culinary masters in our own right, but we cook together when we are not working,
so the Food Awards platform will be a great opportunity to showcase our skills
and synergy.”
Chef Dannecker
who was born and raised in Switzerland, and won the Master Chef of the Year at
the 15th anniversary of the Table Talk Food Awards is upbeat about
the venture. “It’s a pleasure to have been selected to join the talented team,”
he said. “I always look forward to a new culinary experience and when it comes
to cooking, you can count me in.”
Likewise Chef Schweizer
who is also from Switzerland is raring to go. His passion for Caribbean cuisine
with a European style will direct his selections for an enchanting evening. He enjoys
fusing unusual flavours and ingredients, and promises to deliver big. “I’ve
perfectly balanced flavors to thousands of diners throughout the world and I will
be presenting the best of both worlds for an unforgettable experience,”
revealed Chef Schweizer.
With over 28
years under his belt, as an executive Chef in England, Bahamas, Barbados,
Mauritius, Turks & Caicos and Jamaica; and several trophies and awards from
culinary competitions, Chef Sowa thrives on creative innovations and is excited
about the upcoming event. “The Best Dressed Chicken booth will be the Culinary
Destination for Food Awards, we will have something special for everyone, so come
out and expect the unexpected,” he said.
